Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān on Warning Against an Individual For Evil Manners
سؤال: ذكرت معايب شخص من أجل التحذير منه لخلقه السيئ، فهل يعد ذلك من الغيبة المحرمة؟
Question: “I mentioned the faults of a man to warn against him due to his evil manners. Is that considered prohibited backbiting?”
أجاب العلامة الفوزان حفظه الله بقوله: لا هذا من النصيحة، إذا كان شخص مفسد ويعمل هذه الأعمال بين الناس وينشر الفساد بين الناس فأنت حذرت منه هذا من النصيحة للمسلمين.”
Shaykh ʿAllāmah al-Fawzān answered: “No, this is from advice (naṣīḥah). When he is a man (who causes) corruption, he does these actions among people, and spreads corruption between people, and then you warned against him, then this is advice for the Muslims.”
